Mandate

Since 1978, the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum continues to expand the social and cultural horizons of Estevan and surrounding area by encouraging involvement in the dissemination and development of artistic, cultural, and historical practices.

Our Intention

The Estevan Art Gallery is a public gallery that offers a free exchange of ideas and perspectives to reflect our rapidly expanding social and cultural diversity.  A strong sense of identity and pride within Canada's rich visual arts heritage inspires us to be a model of excellence in furthering knowledge of the visual arts both at home and abroad.  With the collaboration of provincial and national institutions, the Gallery seeks to make contemporary art accessible, meaningful, and vital to diverse audiences of all ages.

Submission Procedures

The EAGM welcomes proposals from artists and curators in all media for exhibitions or special projects for the year 2013.  The gallery presents a diverse program of exhibitions, lectures and meetings with artists, and is involved in the production of curated exhibitions connected to themes developed by the Centre.  Together, the programmes propose a critical reflection on today's art and culture.

The gallery has two exhibition spaces and provides professional technical services for the selected projects. The EAGM pays fees to artists and curators in accord with CARFAC standards. Submitted projects are assessed and recommended for program inclusion by the curator.
